The Party
What do you do at the party?
That is up to you! We offer a range of different party packages and characters. Party activities vary depending on the character and theme but can include stories, games, live singing, themed activities and dancing. Superstar Parties can also feature your favourite Superstar celebrity in a concert party format.
What makes Superstar Parties different to other children’s entertainment companies?
Our parties are completely different because we use only talented professional performers who can act, sing and dance. Our talented performers will bring the character to life in a way that only a trained actor can. We also offer singing celebrity impersonators for children so you can have your child’s birthday party hosted by their favourite superstar celebrity. When you book with us you know can depend on our reputation for quality. We are a top choice for Event Planners, Shopping Centres, and Corporate Clients. We were also honoured to have been a top finalist in the national What’s On 4 Kids Award for ‘Best Children’s Party Entertainment’ in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
Is every party the same?
No two parties are the same as every child is different. We plan our parties around factors including the age of the birthday child, the party theme, the character, the number of children attending, and your special requests. We also offer customised parties so you can pick and choose the party inclusions to best suit you.
What are some of the party activities?
Party activates for younger children include lots of themed games, storytelling shows, live singing, sing-a-longs, themed activities and dancing. Parties for tweens include games for older children, lots of music, singing and dancing. Parties for teenagers are more like a concert or disco but we do play a few age appropriate games.

How do I make a booking?
To make a booking you can either Book Now, send us an e-mail at info@superstarparties.com.au or call us on 1300 783 390 or 0413 589 584. Please note that dates will not be reserved until contracts are signed and the 20% deposit is taken. We cannot place any booking “on hold” and cannot guarantee availability, unless a
How early should I book?
As early as possible! We are always in high demand so book early to avoid disappointment. Our weekends fill up quickly, and considering the time it takes to travel around Sydney, there are only so many bookings a performer can do each day. So it’s best to book, as soon as you have decided on the character and package the you would like to have at the party.
Do travel fees apply?
We offer complimentary travel to all locations within 35km of the Sydney CBD. Locations which are more than 35km from the Sydney CBD will incur an additional travel surcharge. Please contact us for a quote.
What do I need to provide for the Entertainer?
We ask that you supply a safe and clear area for the children to play with room to dance and be active. Prior to the party please check for trip hazards and ensure the area is as clear as possible which may require moving furniture aside. If you are having a party with face painting or tattoos please provide a table with two chairs (child sized is fine). When allocating an area for the face painting please ensure that it is in the shade so that the children and our staff are protected from the sun. The entertainer will also require power access for the speaker, but battery operated speakers can be provided for parties in parks. If power access is an issue at your home or venue, please let us know in advance and the performer will bring along a battery operated speaker.
What if I can’t see the character I want?
We have over 400 different costumes/characters and we are in the process of featuring them all in photoshoots and adding them to our website (as you can probably imagine this is a slow process due to the sheer volume!). If you can not see the character you would like please contact us and we will let you know if we have it or if we can prepare a new costume in time for your booking. You can also view a full list of our characters here.
Do you have mascot characters?
We have a range of mascot characters including a Snowman (suits ‘Frozen’, Frosty the Snowman, Winter Wonderland and Christmas events), A White Teddy Bear (dressed in a Christmas hat or black tux also suits polar bear), a Real Life Teddy Bear (he’s furry cute, and looks just like a traditional teddy!) A Reindeer (black nose, or red nose for Rudolph also suits ‘Frozen’ inspired Sven the reindeer), and The Easter Bunny (also suits the White Rabbit for ‘Alice in Wonderland’ events).
Mascot characters can be added to any of our parties or events for an additional fee. When planning your event please remember that our mascot characters do not talk and they cannot provide activities such as singing, face painting and balloon twisting, therefore they are best paired with a partner performer who can keep all of the kids entertained. Mascot suits have limited vision and movement and an additional performer is required to safely guide them at our public events, parades and shows. For kids birthday parties mascot characters are available for a brief 10minute “Birthday cake” appearance but a responsible adult will be required to escort them around the house or garden and a private changing area must be provided for the performer.
What happens if my child changes their mind on the theme or character they want?
We understand that children are constantly changing and growing. What they like one week may be completely different a month later! You are welcome to request a different character subject to availability of costumes and performers etc. Changes may not be made seven days prior to the party.
How do I pay?
We accept payment via Bank Transfer, Direct Deposit, PayPal or Cheque. If you wish to pay by credit card you can pay via the PayPal online invoicing service. We do not accept credit card payments over the phone, or via or website. At the time of booking there is a 20% deposit required to secure the date and time. The remaining balance is then due seven days prior to the event (i.e. by the Monday ahead of your weekend party). We will send you an invoice with payment details for easy reference.
Do you charge a fee if the event is cancelled?
If the event is cancelled within seven days of the booking, there is a 50% cancellation fee. If the event is cancelled within 48 hrs of the booking there is a 100% cancellation fee and all payments will be non-refundable. Should you wish to reschedule your event due to illness etc. there is a 30% rescheduling fee on top of the party cost. In the case of rescheduled events your previous payments will be held by Superstar Parties and credited towards the rescheduled booking. Rescheduled bookings are subject to availability.
Why is the deposit non refundable?
Our Superstar performers are in high demand and they often turn down other bookings to perform at our parties. Even if the party does not go ahead we still pay our artists half of their original fee as per the MEAA union agreement.
The guests
What age groups do you cater for?
We cater for children aged 0-12 and teenagers aged 13-17. If babies and toddlers are present we ask that they have full parent or guardian supervision at all times.
How many children can I invite?
It is best to stick to our guidelines of up to 18 for parties with one performer, or up to 30 with two performers. If you have a few extras we do not charge any extra but it will affect the program of your party. For example extra time would be required for face painting, or balloon twisting, which will mean that you may miss out on some of our other entertainment. If you have over 35 children attending their may be an additional fee to cover the cost of prizes, or we will provide sticker prizes for the children instead of our usual mix of small toys, bouncy balls, jewellery and novelty prizes.
Are siblings included?
We encourage siblings to join in the party. We ask that you include siblings in the headcount if they are an appropriate age to join in the fun. This ensures that we are prepared with enough party supplies and prizes for everyone. If additional guests and siblings turn up on the day we cannot guarantee that there will be time for them to have their faces painted.
What is a good number of guests?
We think that up to 18 is great for younger children so they do not get overwhelmed and all feel included. For larger groups an additional host may be required.
Are your parties suitable for girls and boys?
Yes no matter what character or theme you chose we make sure that the party is fun for everyone and that all of the guests are involved.
Can the parents watch?
Yes parents need to remain nearby to provide adequate supervision. However should the parents wish to catch up and have a chat we ask that they be mindful of the entertainment and do so in a separate area. If you have a large garden it’s a great idea to set up a seating area for the parents away from the main play area but still within sight. Parents who wish to get involved are more than welcome to.
What happens if the children are scared of the entertainer?
Our entertainers are fun and friendly but on rare occasions young children might find some of our characters scary. If a child is upset by an entertainer we encourage the parent to interact with the entertainer so the child can see that it is ok. If they are still upset they may prefer to sit back and watch for a while and will most likely join in when they see how much fun everyone else is having.
What happens if a child is misbehaving?
If a child is misbehaving, disrupting the party or upsetting other guests we ask that a parent please step in. Out of respect to children and parents our entertainers will not attempt to manage young children who are misbehaving. Please keep an eye on your children and ensure that they are not harassing any of the children or our staff members. We aim to provide a safe workplace for all of our staff members and it is unacceptable for children to hit or physically harass our staff.
With this in mind we strongly advise parents not to provide toy or prop weapons for the kids, and if they do have these props as part of their costume please keep them aside until it is time for the photos. Children get excited at parties and play with toy weapons can soon escalate to tears, bumps, bruises and cuts. If your birthday child loves to play sword fights just ask us to include balloon twisting and the performer will make up some balloon swords, it’s a much safer option!
Party Logistics
What happens if it rains?
As we know the weather in Sydney can be very unpredictable so we ask you to please plan a wet weather option. This may be as simple as relocating the venue to home, bringing the party indoors or choosing a park with a large undercover area. Our performers are very flexible and the party will be just as much fun inside or out. Please note that we do not offer any refunds or compensations in the event of wet weather. Since rain is a regular occurrence we also cannot reschedule your event due to rain or other weather conditions.
Can we take photographs?
We encourage you to take as many photos as you wish. There will be many opportunities to take photographs of your child and their friends having a wonderful time. We also take time at the end of the party for dedicated photo opportunities for the guests and birthday boy or girl. Don’t forget to take a special photo of the Birthday Child with your party host.
Can I post the photos of my Superstar Party booking online?
Of course you can! We love seeing photos of our parties and we would greatly appreciate it if you could please tag or credit us. You can find us on Facebook as Superstar Parties Australia and use the hashtag #superstarparties. Please bear in mind that some parents do not like photos of their children being posted online so it is polite to ask your guests first.
Can we still hire a Superstar Parties entertainer if we are booking a party venue?
Most venues will be happy for you to have an external entertainer but we encourage you to call them first to check on their policy. If you are booking a party at a bowling alley or play centre we will usually only perform for an hour so the kids can enjoy the venue entertainment too. We can also offer you with a customised package to better suit the venue (i.e. a singing performance and face painting only). We can also contact your venue directly to provide them with our business and insurance details.
When should the entertainer arrive?
We recommend that the entertainer arrive around half an hour after the start time so that late guests do not interrupt the entertainment. This also gives the kids time to settle in, say hello to everyone and to get excited for the special visitor.
Do you arrive in character?
We always enter the party in character but sometimes we may ask in advance for a small room or bathroom to change in, as some of our costumes are too big or delicate to travel in. We also ask for your assistance in facilitating the entertainer’s entrance. The performer will call you upon arrival to let you know that they are ready to enter. Over the years we have perfected our setup so that it only takes a few minutes for our performers to get ready for the show. During the setup the performer will happily talk to the kids as they get the speaker and microphones ready.

When should the children eat?
Our parties are jam packed with entertainment and activities to keep all of the kids amused. We do not recommend serving food during the entertainment portion of the party but we do suggest serving snacks and finger food during face painting or tattoos. It is a good idea to have some drinks setup for for the kids so as not to disrupt the party.
We recommend that you serve the majority of the food after the entertainer is finished. Food and cake distracts from the entertainer leaving and keeps the children occupied for the remainder of your party. Food can also be served before the entertainment with the Birthday Cake at the end of the entertainment. If you are hosting a longer party and wish to serve food during the performance please let us know before hand and we can make arrangements around it.
When should we bring out the cake?
We are happy to help you present the birthday cake and we recommend that the cake be presented at the end of the entertainment (i.e. in the last five or ten minutes of your booking). The cake makes for great photo opportunities with the entertainer and all of the kids.
Prizes, Gifts and Theming
Do you have prizes/presents?
All of our party packages include prizes for all of the children (rings, bracelets, small toys, stickers, glow sticks etc.) and a special gift for the birthday child.
Can you supply party bags?
We no longer offer party bags as we found that most of our customers preferred to prepare their own. This can be a fun activity to get your children involved in and you can brainstorm ideas for the party bags. Some nice alternatives to traditional lolly bags, are a colouring or story book for each child, a small toy, a cupcake to take home or some home made cookies. Busy parents can also put out a few bowls of lollies to make a lolly buffet where kids can fill a paper bag, box or cup with lollies – it’s a good idea to keep this covered with a tablecloth until the end of the party, and invite kids to come up with their parents so that the parent can monitor how much sugar the child is taking home with them!
Do you supply lolly prizes?
No we do not supply lolly prizes unless it is part of a particular package such as our Halloween or Christmas Parties which may have lollies or candy canes included. For these special events when we do supply lollies they are all individually wrapped and sourced from a reliable local Australian provider.
Can you help with theming and decorations for my party?
We do not currently offer a theming or decorating service but our entertainers will dress in theme and provide themed games and activities to ensure your party is a success. For our latest party tips, theming and decoration ideas like us on Facebook.
Superstar Performances
Are the songs appropriate for children?
The songs of your child’s favourite superstar may not always be kid friendly but Superstar Parties makes minor lyric changes to make the songs appropriate for our young and impressionable audiences. If you have any specific concerns please let us know beforehand otherwise we will perform our usual set list.
Do I need to pay licensing fees for my Superstar Party?
As your party is a private function we do not need to play licensing fees for the music. However we do ask that you do not broadcast the performance as it is meant for private enjoyment only.
Do you sing live?
Yes, yes and always yes. All of our performers are talented professional singers and ready to rock the party.
Are you affiliated with any of the celebrities whom you impersonate?
No we are not affiliated with any of the celebrities we impersonate. Our impersonators are for the joy and entertainment of children and when performing publicly in venues without an APRA licence we pay full licensing fees to APRA so that royalties can be paid to the original artists.
Can I broadcast your performance on Youtube?
Feel free to video our performances and upload all the games and merriment you like but please refrain from posting our performances of cover songs as you may be infringing copyright laws.
Company Information
Do you have liability insurance?
We have public liability insurance and are covered for claims up to $20, 000 000. A copy of our Certificate of Currency is available to all customers and venues on request.
Are you professional childcare workers?
While we are very experienced children’s entertainers, we are not professional childcare minders and we ask that parents or responsible guardians supervise children at all times.
Are your superstars available for parties for grownups?
We are fans of the saying “stick to what you do best!” and for us that is entertainment for children and families. So we stick to corporate events aimed at family audiences, and singing telegrams and parties for children and teenagers. We also provide children’s entertainment at adult events like weddings, anniversaries, or birthday parties where there will be lots of kids attending.
Are you registered with the NSW Commission for Children and Young People?
Yes, we are and all of our performers hold a valid clearance under the New Working With Children Check.
Are you available for bookings other than birthday parties?
Yes, we would love to entertain your guests at a Christening, Baptism, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, wedding or any other special event you may be planning. You may also be interested in our Character Telegrams.
